HOPE South Florida held its Annual HOPE for the Holidays Gala on December 1 at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale raising more than $130,000. The proceeds will benefit homeless women, children, families and veterans through the programs and services provided by HOPE South Florida.

About 300 energetic attendees celebrated another year of making a difference in Broward. HOPE South Florida, a pre-eminent homeless organization in Broward, has been a lifeline and empowering agent, assisting families to regain their feet, marshal their resources and planning and implementing strategies with access to housing, jobs and supportive services that strengthen families.

In 2017, they increased meals served from 55,000 last year to 80,000 this year.  HOPE South Florida has secured long term housing from 150 homeless families and veterans to 215 over the same period. The recent acquisition of a Mobile Shower unit will provide up to 600 showers to individuals this year. They also partner with more than 77 churches across the county, providing emergency short term housing, shared meals and family support services for those in need.

“Many thanks to Jennifer Stepelton, Event Chair, the committee members and Sheneka Spencer, Director of Development for spearheading such an amazing and successful fundraising event,” said Dr. Ted Greer, Jr., CEO of HOPE South Florida.
