“How To” iPhoneography Series

North Beach Village Resort has invited internationally renown iPhoneographer Andy Royston to Village Design, located at 600 Breakers Ave. in Fort Lauderdale, to host a one-of-a-kind, hands-on, iPhoneogarphy Series.

Four intimate workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays, July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13. Royston’s four workshops will be dedicated to a different topic and highlight which apps are best for editing. Participants will also have the opportunity to submit one of their photos to be displayed at Village Design.

Originally from Yorkshire, England, Andy Royston began the FtLauderdaleSun Project in 2009. Every single morning, he uses his iPhone to capture a single moment of Fort Lauderdale Beach at dawn. Then, using a variety of apps, angles and natural lighting, he edits the images and instantly shares them with more than 60,000 social media followers.

“For me, photography is not about the technology that captured it, but rather about establishing a story with each image,” said Royston. “My aim for this workshop is to connect photographers to their images. It’s about teaching them to use tools that are at their fingertips to enhance the image or create something new and unique.”

The cost is $12 per workshop or $40 for all four workshops and includes professional art instruction, hands on practice, light refreshments courtesy of Village Café, and the opportunity to showcase a photograph in the Village Design gallery.
