Lifelong Learning Institute presents “Short Stories: Edna Ferber”

Covenant Village of Florida, 9215 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation, will host Nova Southeastern University Lifelong Learning Institute as Kurt Stone presents “Short Stories: Edna Ferber” on March 10 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Stone, a noted historian, writer, lecturer, rabbi, political activist, medical ethicist and occasional actor, will present an in-depth look at novelist and playwright Edna Ferber (1885-1968). Ferber won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel So Big. Her book, Show Boat (1926), became a musical and Giant (1952), James Dean’s final film, was made into a movie.

Covenant Village of Florida and the Nova Southeastern University Lifelong Learning Institute offer monthly lectures on a variety of topics, including art, music, literature, philosophy, history, politics, current events, science and health care. Expert NSU visiting faculty and faculty members lead each lecture, which is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.
