Food For the Poor Thanks Donors at Luncheon

Tom Abblett, an elder at Hammock Street Church in Boca Raton, who has ardently supported the charity’s Join The Pack community food packing event for the past two years, received the 2018 Food For The Poor Volunteer of the Year Award.

Food For The Poor Vice President Mark Khouri, who presented the award, said Abblett recruits family members who have come from near and far to support him at every packing session.

The 2018 Corporate Sponsor of the Year Award was given to TD Bank. The company’s relationship with Food For The Poor goes back to 2009 with its continued support of the charity’s Building Hope Gala held annually in February in Boca Raton.

Food For The Poor Executive Director Angel Aloma thanked Abblett, TD Bank and the charity’s other volunteers and corporate partners that are transforming the lives of the poor.

“You keep us energized. You have the most beautiful type of generosity that exists in the world,” Aloma said. Visit www.FoodForThePoor.org.
