Praise FM’s Sharathon starts March 18

The Good News

Praise FM 89.5 (WSRX) Station Manager Arnie Coones is pleased to announce the dates for the radio station’s Sharathon 2009, a three-day event where callers make a pledge of financial support toward the station’s annual operating budget. The fundraiser is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18 and end at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 20.

“Praise FM’s radio Life has been serving Southwest Florida since 1994. Each year, we ask our listeners and the community to call in during the three-day event and make a faith pledge of financial support. Our goal this year is $120,000, and with listeners pledging any amount, small and large, we will be able to continue blessing and serving our area,” says Arnie Coones.

“The past year has seen an economic decline that touches everyone, and there is such a need to hear ‘good News’ now more than ever. We ask for prayer, phone volunteers, [and] business donations for on-air giveaways and support as we get ready for this fundraiser.”

Praise FM, found at 89.5 on the dial, is the only Naples-based adult contemporary/Christian hit radio station. They play a wide variety of uplifting music, from ballads to rock to hip-hop, plus educational programming that reaches out to everyone with the important message of God’s love for humankind.

Phone volunteers are needed. Those interested in helping should call Shelre’ Joy at 239-775-8950.

Businesses that have items that can be used for giveaways in exchange for on-air recognition should contact Curt Baker, business underwriting director, at 239-775-8950.
