God’s Promise to Israel

I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, And no longer shall they be pulled up From the land I have given them,” Says the Lord your God. (Amos 9:14–15 NKJV) God’s promise kept One of the greatest tangible proofs that the Bible is true is the way prophecies are made and fulfilled and the way promises are made and kept. The most […]

“I Felt The Love of Jesus Through The Shoebox!”

As we look forward to celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Operation Christmas Child is also marking a birthday. This year marks 30 years since Samaritan’s Purse began collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts for hurting children around the world. In 1993, a man in England asked us to collect Christmas gifts for children in war-torn Bosnia. I called a church in Charlotte, where Pastor Ross Rhoads invited his congregation to fill shoeboxes with children’s gifts, and they overwhelmed us with 11 thousand boxes—so many that the church ran out of room to store them. I’ll never […]

Big News at First Baptist Fort Lauderdale

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, Pastor David Hughes addressed the congregation: “Church, we had a situation here,” and proceeded to tell the group “due to a technicality” and for one reason or another bottom line, First Baptist Fort Lauderdale appeared to be “late” with the mortgage payment. “All churches generally have mortgages just like us… I won’t get into all the details, but it happened,” Hughes went on…. And the lender called the note in for the $3.5 million dollars owed. Gasp! “That’s not all; I was angry feeling they were trying to take advantage of us because this is […]

National Christian Foundation South Florida Reflects on 20 Years of Impact

In March of 2003, Fort Lauderdale community leaders and hundreds of churches joined forces during Spring Break to host BeachFest, led by the late Evangelist Luis Palau, which attracted hundreds of thousands of attendees and resulted in more than 5,000 decisions for Christ. As this unprecedented event reached its crescendo after years of planning, Stephan Tchividjian, CEO and Co-Founder of the National Christian Foundation, said, “We began to ask, what has this started and how could we carry this momentum on?” That conversation led to the founding of what is now the National Christian Foundation of South Florida (NCFSF), a […]

He Is Our Shepherd

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters” (Psalm 23:1–2). Virtually every educated mind in the English-speaking world has heard the words of this psalm of King David. These words to our loving Shepherd have been spoken by many a soldier under a star-filled sky during a dark night in a foxhole on some faraway battlefield. These are the words whose syllables have been formed by, and whispered through, the lips of many while dying on a bed of affliction. These are the […]

Your Work Matters to God

On September 4, Americans celebrate the federal holiday known as Labor Day. So I’d like to give you a word of eternal encouragement about your labor: No matter where you work and what you do, your work matters to God. First, we must remember that work is not a result of the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Work was given to them before they sinned and rebelled against God. Work is one of God’s many good gifts to mankind. Theologians frequently refer to this as the Cultural Mandate or the Creation Mandate. “God created man […]
