This exhibit supports the efforts of the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation by raising awareness of the need to protect and connect critical natural habitats across the state. \nSupport for Nature Explore: Outdoor Exhibit has been provided by the following Funds at the Community Foundation of Broward: Mary N. The event will feature guest speaker Jamie Christian\, P.E.\, division administrator\, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)\, Florida\, Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands and keynote speaker Laura Chace\, president and CEO of ITS America. \nThe program will include breakfast and networking opportunities\, followed by a variety of speakers including Greg Stuart\, Steve Braun\, District 4 secretary\, FDOT; Monica Cepero\, county administrator\, Broward County; Yvette Colbourne\, MPO chair\, city commissioner\, City of Miramar and Joseph P. DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Discovery and Science\, 401 SW 2nd St\, Fort Lauderdale will be holding the opening of newest childhood exhibit\, Discovery Spot on August 4 at 10 a.m. \nThe highly anticipated exhibit\, presented by JM Family Enterprises\, will encompass 4\,000 square feet of Museum space\, and will allow young scientists (ages 0-6) and their families to explore the wonder of Florida’s ecosystems. \nFrom Ocean to Air and the Everglades to the Citrus Grove\, children are invited to splash\, climb\, tinker and explore. Each area supports a child’s open-ended\, role-playing and imaginative play. DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS)\, 401 SW 2nd St\, Fort Lauderdale will be holding its 12th Annual Asian-Pacific American Heritage Celebration on May 6 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. \nThis event will celebrate the rich culture\, traditions\, history and music in collaboration with Polynesian Proud Productions. \nGuests are invited to enjoy a full-day of cultural performances from Polynesian Proud Productions\, drumming with Ronin Taiko and demonstrations by Joe Keit Martial Arts\, as well as learning about different art forms from various Asian-Pacific American cultures\, exploring the science of volcanoes and islands\, participating in a shark tooth dig and engaging in hands-on make-and-take arts and crafts stations that celebrate the diversity of South Florida’s Asian-Pacific Islander community. \nThis event is included with admission to the Museum.
