South Florida Behavioral Health Conference

United Way Broward’s Coalition on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention, alongside Broward Behavioral Health Coalition and Florida Department of Children and Families, will host the 11th Annual South Florida Behavioral Health Conference: The Power of Prevention at The Diplomat Beach Resort, 3555 S Ocean Dr, Hollywood from May 27 – 28 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The conference will also recognize several outstanding leaders for their contributions to behavioral health, prevention, and community wellness initiatives. Honorees have just been announced and include:

  • Heather Geronemus, recipient of the Paul E. Daly Champion for Prevention Award, recognized as a leader who advances innovative prevention efforts and help build healthier, safer communities
  • David Scharf, recipient of the Community Trailblazer Award, honored for his exceptional dedication to improving mental health awareness, support, and access
  • Silvia Quintana, recipient of the Legacy of Care Award, celebrated for her lasting leadership and meaningful impact in behavioral health, wellness, and community care.

This two-day conference brings together clinicians, policymakers, and behavioral health leaders to explore timely topics including trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, workforce development, and integrated care models. Attendees can also earn CEU credits.

Notably, this year’s keynote lineup includes Kevin Hines, Ryan Jenkins, Allan Kehler, and Rick Griffin.
