Hope and Encouragement on the front lines

When we step out in faith, asking God to bless our hands in our endeavor to give Him glory, it is not surprising to be met with an unimaginable outcome. Lynelle Chauncey Zelnar, of Palm Beach, knows this firsthand, as she has watched her initial desire to help others be transformed into a well-known national organization that touches men and women on the front lines in the war overseas. It all started back in 2003, when Lynelle was working as a full-time property manager. She remembers one of her co-workers living with the daily stress of having a son who […]

Revealing truth on the The 12 Biggest Lies

It has been said that it takes two to establish a lie – one to lie and one to listen. Today’s society is full of opinions and deceptions being sold as “truths.” How do you react when you hear these opinions? How do you weigh out the facts from the deception? Do you consider yourself an independent thinker…one who doesn’t immediately take what is being given to you as solid truth, but one who prefers to uncover the whole truth for yourself?   Director, writer and producer, Andre` van Heerden is on a mission to uncover the truth in his […]

The impact of a stranger

I was recently invited to take part in what I believe has been the most rewarding outreach event I have ever attended. Led by Steven and Cheryl Price, Military Outreach Life or M.O.M., is an outreach not only dear to their hearts, but is one that affects the hearts of all who become involved. M.O.M was started several years ago when Cheryl’s son, Brian, who serves as an avionics technician in the Air Force, asked for some homemade treats from back home.  Cheryl, who is the Missions Leader at First United Methodist Church in Coral Springs, began doing small […]

A journey through domestic violence

Domestic violence is a term we have all heard before. However, with domestic violence growing into one of Americas major health concerns, it may be surprising to learn that not only is it the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the U.S., but there are only 1,500 shelters for battered women – compared to almost 4,000 shelters available for animals.  Contrary to what most people think when they hear the term domestic violence, it isn’t just a physical act. This violent confrontation can also come in sexual and psychological forms and is […]
