Biebl: Ave Maria – Music for Men’s Chorus

The All Saints Episcopal Church, 333 Tarpon Drive, Fort Lauderdale and the Seraphic Fire Vocal Ensemble present Biebl: Ave Maria – Music for Men’s Chorus which will be showcased on May 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Franz Biebl wrote his iconic “Ave Maria” for an all-male Bavarian Firemen’s Chorus in the summer of 1959. From those humble beginnings, the piece made its way through the glee clubs of U.S. universities before being performed and recorded by the pre-eminent all-male vocal ensemble, Chanticleer. Seraphic Fire now performs the Biebl and explores the tradition of music for men’s choirs that inspired this singular work.
