Food For the Poor will be hosting a Help Haiti Community Collection Day at the charity’s Coconut Creek warehouse, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek on September 10 from 1 – 7 p.m.

Churches, schools, businesses and community groups are all encouraged to host collection drives to show their support for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, and then bring those items to Food For The Poor on September 10. Among the most essential items needed are canned and dried beans, baby diapers and wipes, baby food and cereal, premixed baby formula, feminine hygiene products, adult diapers, 4-to-6-person tents, and tarps. Clothing and shoes will not be accepted. Donated items must be unused and not expired. All goods must have an expiration date of February 2022 or later.
