IGNITE Broward

IGNITE Broward will be held at the Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, and MAD Arts, 481 Federal Hwy, Dania Beach from January 26 – 30 from 6 – 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

IGNITE is Broward’s new family-friendly immersive art experience showcasing exciting interactive light and video installations by leading contemporary artists and designers.

Admission to all Ignite Broward art experiences and talks is free and open to the public. There will be spectacular outdoor digital, light-based art and 3D projection mapping at the Museum of Discovery & Science and captivating indoor video, light and design exhibitions will be on display at MAD Arts in Dania Beach with with timed reservations available and extended viewing until 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The event will also include food trucks, music and Broward County Mayor, Michael Udine will activate the art at 6 p.m.

A series of talks exploring the intersection of technology and art will also take place during the event’s five-day run, which coincides with Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week.

IGNITE Broward builds on the Cultural Division’s ‘Light the Night’ festival, which took place in March 2021. Now, with a new name, expanded roster of artists and mediums, and new locations, IGNITE Broward is sure to become a must-see annual event.

Presented by Broward Cultural Division, IGNITE Broward is produced by the creative solutions firm MAD. It incorporates innovative technology to create new site-specific artworks by international and local artists. Additional support comes from Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, Visit Lauderdale, Museum of Discovery & Science and the City of Fort Lauderdale.
