DETAILS:

What is a Virtual 5K?
A virtual 5K can be run or walked anywhere, in your neighborhood, a park, a race track, or even on your treadmill at home!

How do they work?
Simply register for the virtual 5K, run or walk the race during the dates of the 5K, then share your pictures on social media with the hashtag #MENDingMiles5K. You will be emailed a digital bib to print and wear while you run/walk. After the last date for the Virtual 5K, medals will be mailed to the individuals who registered for medals.

What are the dates?
The 5K is any time between May 5 – May 13. May 6 is International Bereaved Mother’s Day and May 13 is Mother’s Day in the U.S. This is a perfect way to remember your baby and to recognize yourself as their mommy. This 5K will unify M.E.N.D. families and all baby loss families across the U.S. as we share on social media and support each other in our losses.

Who can participate?
Anyone!  Young, old, fast, slow. You can run/walk in memory of your baby by yourself or as a group with your family and friends. Make sure to share this with your family and friends who don’t live near you so they can run/walk in memory of your baby, too!

What is the cost?
The M.E.N.D.ing Miles Virtual 5K is $35 per person to register to get a medal. A participant can add on family and friends who do not want a medal for an additional $15 per person.

What distance do I run/walk?
This is a 5K, which is about 3.1 miles. If you can only walk a half mile, that’s ok! Do what you can.

Do I have to record my time?
No, but you are welcome to post your time on social media with our hashtag or post your time on our Facebook page!

Where do I post on Social Media?
We have a M.E.N.D.ing Miles Virtual 5K Facebook page, search @MENDingMiles5K. You can also tag us in your posts on twitter at @MENDinfantloss or on Instagram @m.e.n.d.1996. Use our hashtag #MENDingMiles5k.

Who does this benefit?
This 5K benefits the ministry of M.E.N.D. (Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death) and our various chapters throughout the U.S.  During registration, you can designate which chapter you would like to receive credit for your participation or you can opt to have it benefit the general M.E.N.D. operating fund which supports ALL of our nationwide efforts.  M.E.N.D. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports families after the death of a baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.

Can I walk/run in memory of my baby?
YES! Make shirts, wear M.E.N.D. shirts, wear your printable digital bib, use a hashtag for your baby, write about your baby when you post on social media. Your family and friends can walk/run in memory of your baby, as well.

When is the last day to register?
Registration will remain open through May 13 or until we sell out of medals, whichever comes first.  Register early to ensure you receive a medal!
