Nova Southeastern University Lifelong Learning Institute presents “Art of the Bible: David”

Covenant Village of Florida will host Nova Southeastern University Lifelong Learning as Batia Cohen, Ph.D., presents “Art of the Bible: David” on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, 10:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m.

Throughout the centuries, the Bible has come to life through the eyes of artists. Various artists have depicted the figure of David, first as part of the lineage of Christ, and later as the hero of Florence. The Renaissance reinterpreted the role of this biblical figure, making him a symbol of their city. Join Dr. Batia Cohen as she explores how artists have portrayed David in a variety of mediums. Cohen has a Ph.D. in Mesoamerican studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the Universidad Metropolitana in Mexico City. She was adjunct professor at Florida International University and has published numerous articles in specialized art and history magazines.

Covenant Village of Florida is located at 9215 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation, Fla. The lecture is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. For more information or to RSVP, please call 877-670-0889 or visit www.CovenantFlorida.org.
