Broward Partnership hosted its annual Chefs Helping the Homeless fundraiser on Sept. 27, drawing top chefs, restaurants and community supporters to The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale for a night of fine dining with a purpose. Since launching in 2007, the event has raised more than $1 million to support Broward Partnership’s mission of helping individuals experiencing homelessness regain stability and secure housing.

The evening began with a cocktail reception and mission moment from CEO Tom Ruthardt and event chair Jerry Gutierrez. Donors contributed more than $50,000 during the program, including gifts from the Leo Goodwin Foundation and a $10,000 challenge from Christopher and Julie Barnett. After the reception, guests were chauffeured to participating restaurants for multi-course meals prepared by top South Florida chefs.
Proceeds support Broward Partnership’s comprehensive programs that provide shelter, employment services and long-term housing support.
The event was presented by BMW of Pembroke Pines, with additional sponsors including the Leo Goodwin Foundation, FPL, the Sally Goldman Foundation, and Elite Home Staging.
Founded in 1997, Broward Partnership is the county’s largest homeless services provider, working to promote independence and self-sufficiency for individuals and families in need.
