VeggieTales launches Bible exploration DVD

If you have children, chances are that you have heard of the VeggieTales. Have you heard the statistic that there is a Bible in 92 percent of American homes? The most important question is: Do children really understand what is in the Bible? Realizing that the new generation learns more visually, Tyndale House Publishers presents a new 13-DVD series entitled What’s In The Bible? Aimed at children aged 5–11, this DVD set is led by VeggieTales legend, Phil Vischer, and puppet, Buck Denver. The goal of the series is to explore the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations, and to teach children how the Bible was made. It revolves around the leading figures and themes from the Bible.

Vischer opens up about the new DVD Series by stating, “I picture the kid in the back of Sunday School class – with the questions teachers dread. I know that honest answers now help solidify faith long-term.”

The VeggieTales Series has sold over 50 million DVD’s and has also produced two theatrical films around the stories of the Bible. In this latest series, children will get plugged into the entire Bible. Vischer was recently e-mailed by bestselling author Randy Alcorn: “My grandson and I watched it together and again the next day and the next, bonus features and all, until we had to leave. Matthew is now a devoted fan of Buck Denver and the other characters.”

The author also went into detail about enjoying “the depth of biblical background and commentary on God’s great drama of redemption.”

Here is a glimpse at discs 1-3:

1. In the Beginning– In this DVD, children will explore God’s big story and how the first 11 chapters of Genesis set up the entire Bible and life itself.

2. Let My People Go!– Here, children will meet Abraham and learn how God used him to start the great nation–Israel.

3. Wanderin’ in the Desert – An exploration into Numbers, Leviticus, Deuteronomy and Exodus, allowing children to see the trials and victories of God’s people.

Famous Author C.S. Lewis, who connected children to God, once said, “We must learn the language of our audience.” Cambridge scientist, Alister McGrath, adds, “For this generation, visual is fundamental to learning.” Writing and producing the DVD Series with this knowledge, Vischer firmly believes that “by the time the kids see the final DVD, they will know the entire Bible.”
