Tortured For Christ

Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, author of 18 books, was a Romanian Christian Minister of Jewish descent who had the misfortune of growing up during a time of severe anti-Semitism in Communist Romania. Pastor Wurmbrand had publicly declared that Christianity and Communism were incompatible, and thus Pastor Wurmbrand was tortured mercilessly and imprisoned for 14 years for his beliefs; his wife Sabina was imprisoned for three years. One of the many trials he had to endure during this time period was spending three of those years in solitary confinement in a cell 12 feet underground, with no light. He slept during the […]

Living Your God Given Potential

Several weeks ago I was forwarded a “must see” video from my mother-in-law. Unlike many videos forwarded to my email box, this one was followed up by an immediate phone call from my husband. “Did you watch it yet? Did you open the email?” his voice raced on the other end. Curiosity got the better of me; I stopped what I was doing and clicked on the link. What I would find was a six minute video offering a glimpse into the incredible life of Patrick Henry Hughes. As the video began, two things stuck out immediately – Patrick’s incredible […]

I Will Not Be Silent

As most of us know, the United States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were founded upon biblical precepts drawn by our Founding Fathers, who were primarily Christian men. Today, many of these principles are being breached in lieu of a liberal, progressive worldview. “The moral principles and precepts contained in the scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war proceed from their despairing or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible,” stated Noah Webster, author of the […]

Love And Marriage

Love is not something you feel. It’s something you do. ~ David Wilkerson In a day and age when marriage seems to be losing both its popularity and appeal, as Christians, we need to guard our relationships. Whether it’s at work or even within our circle of friends, someone at some point will make a derogatory comment about their spouse. While it may seem like innocent banter at the time, in actuality it is influencing our feelings about our relationship. Being aware of our inherent tendencies can help us avoid snares and keep us focused on truth. Perhaps you are […]
