Bible Study Group Celebrates Christmas in July

Camera July 2016 273 - CopyFriends and family of the Calvary Chapel Plantation Women’s Bible study group, “The Thursday Night Chica’s,” gathered on Saturday, July 9th to pack more than 700 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. This bi-annual event has occurred for over 8 years. Yearly, the group commits to pack over 1,000 gift-filled boxes for children around the world.  July’s packing event surpassed other years by approximately 75 boxes, and in November they will gather again.

The ladies collect items year-round that will serve as “mission trips in a box,” spreading the love of Jesus Christ to children around the world through Samaritan’s Purse.

After the group of approximately 48 adults and children finished, they gathered in fellowship to pray over the boxes and share brunch as a celebration of their faith.

Group leader Debbie Hevia stated, “Each time we gather God continues to show us Ephesians 3:20: ‘He can do more than we can ever imagine or ask.’ We give all glory to Him!”
