Children’s Home Society Names Child Advocate of the Year

More than 200 guests attended the 16th Annual “Helping Turn Lives Around” event in support of the Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) on May 19. During the event, which raised funds for Fort Lauderdale’s most vulnerable children and families, CHS presented its highest honor, the 2017 R. David and I. Lorraine Thomas Child Advocate of the Year Award to Yvette Dubose, of the Heart Gallery of Broward County.
CHS serves more than 50,000 children and families throughout the state each year, including 1800 in Broward. Its mission is to help build strong and loving families through adoption and foster care, heal the pain for children who have been abused or neglected and guide teens to successful transition to adulthood.
