The ability to laugh together is important and profound. Laughter allows us to let our guard down and opens us up to hear a deeper message. That’s why Comedienne Dede Lomenick, founder of The Devine MOMedy says, “The ultimate joy is to communicate God’s message to an audience and do it in a way that is funny and engaging.”

She added, “I also LOVE when I’m in front of a secular crowd and I have them laughing hard and then they find out that I’m a pastor’s wife. Not only that, but I’m a Christian too! People seem shocked that a Christian can be funny. It seems crazy to me that the people who have the greatest reason to be filled with joy – are not known as the fun crowd. As believers, we are blessed to know the True Source of Joy – let’s get out there and spread the joy!!”

For the past two years the MOMs (moms on a mission) ministry at Rio Vista Community Church has put together a comedy event for everyone to come to. It is a FUN night and a great event to invite unchurched friends to.
