Crockett Foundation Holds 8th Annual Community Health Festival

CrockettMore than 4,000 students attended the 8th Annual Crockett Foundation Community Health Festival on August 13. At this free eventBroward County children were provided with free physical exams, immunizations, haircuts, shoes and backpacks filled with school supplies. The goal of the festival was to educate families on the importance of maintaining good health and to promote positive lifestyle choices.

Sponsors of the event included Broward’s Back to School Community Extravaganza, Hands on Broward, Children’s Services Council of Broward County, Broward County Public Schools, Healthy Schools, Beauty Anatomy Institute of Cosmetology and Wellness, Aerospace Medicine Services International, In Jacob’s Shoes, Florida Department of Health and Keith and Associates.

The Crockett Foundation continuously strives to build strong communities through its various educational, mentoring and tutorial programs. They aim to expand the ability to read and provide opportunities while effectively sparking hope, awareness and increased aspirations in youth.
