Deliverance Is Coming!

Has God put a dream in your heart or spoken something deep down on the inside, but no matter how much you try, your situation never changes? In fact, it seems to get worse! Maybe God has told you that you would overcome an addiction, but for the past 20 years you have battled with little or no results. No matter what programs you have been on and prayer lines you have been in, you just cannot seem to gain victory in the situation. Maybe your marriage has been less than meaningful for the past ten years and it seems hopeless that real change can take place. You have been to marriage seminars, read books about marriage and have even been to counselors, but nothing seems to work. Yet, God that has promised you He will restore your marriage. Or, maybe you have struggled with an illness for a long time and have been to every doctor imaginable but nothing appears to fix your health problems. You might have even been told that the dreams in your heart are foolish. You no longer experience the thrill and excitement of pursuing the goals you were destined to fulfill because one too many people came up against you and told you it was impossible for you to accomplish them.

Regardless of the challenges facing you, God is bigger than your circumstances and wants to deliver you in due season! The Israelites had been enslaved in Egypt for 400 years with no sign of change. They had endured harsh, unfair treatment and oppression and all hope appeared lost. The Bible says, “But the Israelites continued to groan under their burden of slavery. They cried out for help, and their cry rose up to God. God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He looked down on the people of Israel and knew it was time to act” (Exodus 2:23-25 NLT). God heard the Israelites’ cries for help! He was not caught off guard at what was happening to them, but He intervened at just the right time. It was an appointed time. In other words, God displayed His mighty delivering power in due season. He could have prevented the Israelites from going into slavery, but He did not. God could prevent your situation from happening too, but many times He does not. Instead, He shows up at an appointed time on your behalf to rescue you out of the trial so you can see that God is your Deliverer, your Healer; your Way Maker! Could it be that God is waiting for the perfect time to liberate you from your circumstance or addiction, or to restore your marriage? Could it be that God is aligning all the right puzzle pieces to fulfill the dreams He put in your heart? God remembered His covenant promise with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and was watching over His promise to fulfill it at just the right time. Do not give up when life seems unfair or difficult. God is moving behind the scenes on your behalf and at just the right moment, He will spring into action like only God can!

Maybe your situation has been the same way for so long that you cannot remember what it was like to be free from it. This was true for a family that Jesus came across. The Bible records, “So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. ‘I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again’” (Mark 9:20-25 NLT)! The father had witnessed his son’s condition for so long he thought there was no way he could get better. That is why he told Jesus, “Help us, if you can.” Jesus went on to tell him, “All things are possible if you believe.” When God enters the equation, everything changes! God wants us to just “BELIEVE.” We do not have to strive and try, but to trust and believe. If God has put a dream inside your heart or spoken something to you down in your spirit, then it is only a matter of time before it comes to pass. The key is to remain in faith and trust God, not your circumstances. Jesus tells us in the gospels that He came to set captives free and that His yoke is easy and His burden is light! Deliverance is coming for you. Keep trusting, keep believing! Don’t give up and quit. Enter into God’s rest and watch Him fight on your behalf just like He did for the Israelites coming out of Egypt. He brought to pass the promise He made with Abraham over 400 years earlier and He wants to bring to pass the promise He made you! Don’t sink into depression or develop a bad attitude. Instead, declare that you trust God even when it does not seem like things are changing. Deliverance is coming! Will you have eyes of faith to see it?
