On October 17, 2019, Elite Foundation launched its yearly 1Day2 Freedom™ empowerment event. This year’s theme was based on the Foundation’s recent international bestseller release- Unstoppable: Leveraging Life’s Setbacks to Build Resilience for Success. The sold-out event was hosted at Jacaranda Country Club in support of ‘The Carpenter’ capital campaign to raise funds to build the first stabilization and assessment Safehaven-shelter program for victims and survivors of human exploitation and sex trafficking in Broward County. The wonderful evening was filled with inspirational testimonies from survivors once served by Elite, who today live in wholeness and are building their own advocacy platforms to be a voice for those still stuck in the darkness. Dr. Vera and Ms. Elliott shared how the Foundation is fighting to eradicate the Human Trafficking pandemic in our backyard through education, empowerment and leadership training, to co-create a future for every survivor. Keynote speakers; Dede Lomenick, Nadine Raphael and Ginger Martin collaboratively shared wisdom and their unique strategies to overcome life’s setbacks. The room was filled with engaged people of influence who had gathered for one purpose…to make a difference.
