Helping Recovery from the Earthquakes

MAP International and Brother’s Brother Foundation are addressing health needs such as medicines and medical supplies. Feed My Starving Children will provide MannaPack rice meals to supply critically needed food and nutrition, and Water Mission is assisting with safe water.

The death toll from the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria that struck on Feb. 6 surpassed 50,000 on Friday, according to Reuters.

“The images of the damage are shocking and the stories of survivors crying out for help are heartbreaking,” FFTP President/CEO Ed Raine said. “We know firsthand from responding to catastrophic disasters, such as the August 2021 earthquake in Haiti, that urgent help is needed and that the scale of the response needs to be enormous. We’re committed to working with our partners to help in a meaningful way.”

While FFTP’s mission primarily is to serve internationally in the Caribbean and Latin America, the charity has responded in the past to catastrophic disasters elsewhere in the world. To learn more, visit foodforthepoor.org/quakerelief
