Football Fans and Foodies Scored Big During Grill-Off

Miami Dolphins legends and South Florida chefs went head-to-head at this year’s “John Offerdahl’s Broward Health® Gridiron Grill-Off Food, Wine & Tailgate Festival.” Nearly 3,000 attendees sampled grilled entrees paired with premium Gallo wines, while raising over $50,000 for Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation.

The 2014 Judge’s Choice Champions were former Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder and Chef Chris Miracolo of S3 Restaurant for their Grilled Cobia Fish Taco recipe. This sustainable seafood dish was featured as part of Guy Harvey’s Sustainable Seafood Village.

For the second consecutive year, former Miami Dolphins safety Glenn Blackwood and Chef Victor Franco of Oceans 234 took home the People’s Choice Award for their Espresso and Chocolate Crusted Filet Mignon.

All of the proceeds benefit Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation, which directs funds to 4KIDS of South Florida, HOPE South Florida, Here’s Help, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Educational Foundation, Miami Dolphins Foundation and Taste of the NFL.
