What is the chief end of man?

According to the Westminster Shorter Catechism, Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and enjoy him forever.

Do we do that? I mean, do we really enjoy God and glorify him or are our lives checklists of things to do or ways to behave — drudgery? When someone asks about your family or marriage, do you puff up or shrink? Are you thriving or surviving?

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

Gracepoint Church is ready to shake things up in 2019 with FUNtastic events to bring the joy back to your families, your marriages, your relationships and your life.

Starting in January, Gracepoint is going to host various FUNtastic events with both FUN and FUNdamentals. Our events will be action-packed, full of music, games, uplifting themes and maybe even some dancing.

 

FUNtastic Marriage

Friday, January 18, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.

This is no marriage seminar or class — it’s a night of loving and laughing with the man or woman you love. It’s a celebration of the gift of marriage.

Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a fast-paced, action-packed evening of laughing, singing, learning and loving. You will leave with tools to take your marriage to the next level. You may even learn a Rhumba or Swing Dance step or two. It’s date night on steroids.

Not quite married? Come on out and get ready for the greatest adventure of your life.

Our guest speaker for January is Lisa May from Live the Life Ministries of South Florida. She’s bearing gifts for our FUNtastic couples.

Our March FUNtastic event will be “The Talk” with our guest speaker Dr. Ghea Adeboyejo discussing the things that can go wrong in the bedroom and how to handle them. Maybe things are good… but they could always be better. Shhh! It’s the stuff nobody talks about.

 

FUNtastic Kids

This is not a regular child care. This is an event-filled evening for the kids. While you are having your FUNtastic date night, your kids will be having the time of their lives. Kids are free. No need to register. FUN food will be provided.

 

FUNtastic Singles

Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.

No, it’s not a dating event. We welcome unmarrieds of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are never-married, widowed, divorced, twenty or eighty, this event will lift you up, encourage your walk, and give you a fun place to share life with other believers.

Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by FUN and FUNdamentals including music, games, activities, take-away prizes, and maybe even some line dancing.

Our guest speaker for January is Dr. Norm Wise of Living Water Christian Counseling. With all the insanity going on in our culture today, did you know you can have sane relationships? Seems like they are hard to find in our family, our work and even sometimes in our churches.
