Girl Scouts Help Local Food Drive

Girl ScoutsGirl Scouts of Southeast Florida recently donated 1,018 pounds of food to Food For The Poor to benefit destitute families in Haiti. The food was collected by 127 Girl Scouts from 16 participating troops through the annual Feeding Florida Together Food Drive. Donated food items include canned milk, vegetables, fruit, beans, meats and fish. Girl Scouts received a patch for their involvement in the April food drive. Food For The Poor thanked the Girl Scout troops for their help in gathering food for Haiti.
“By asking your friends and neighbors to support your troop’s food drive, you showed courage; and the fruits of your labor will bring comfort to poor children and their families in Haiti,” said Robin Mahfood, President/CEO of Food For The Poor. “Thank you for your help to make the world a better place. With the start of hurricane season, these provisions are an answer to many prayers.”
