John Fisher, owner of Fisher Precious Metals, is a national industry expert on buying gold and silver bullion and establishing precious metals IRAs. He is also a Certified Appraiser with the International Society of Appraisers and facilitates certified appraisals. However, his expertise was originally developed in support of Christian ministries.
After spending over a decade in the business incentive industry, John Fisher was asked to join Stephan Tchividjian in establishment of the local Christian Community Foundation (CCF) in Fort Lauderdale, originally the local presence for the National Christian Foundation. Having gained experience as the Vice President of CCF in donor advised funds, philanthropy and estate planning, John expanded his consulting services to various ministries such as Evangelism Explosion and The Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers. He helped these ministries establish effective planned giving programs for their donors. Throughout these two decades, John was continuing to buy and sell gold and silver bullion. In 2007 he was approached by multiple Christian clients to buy precious metals on their behalf, and gold and silver bullion became his full time business.
A long time advertising supporter of the Good News, Fisher Precious Metals buys and sells all forms of gold and silver coins and bars. They also buy and sell diamonds on a wholesale basis, and store precious metals for clients both domestically and abroad.
“We consider education and counseling our clients and prospective clients to be the most important thing we do,” said Fisher. “There is a tremendous amount of unethical behavior in our industry, and we seek to offer our clients a safe, confidential environment where individuals feel a sense of trust.”
From Minnesota to Thailand
Raised on a cattle ranch in Trimont, Minnesota, John Fisher graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota. He also earned a masters degree in Thai Language and Literature from the University of Khon Kaen in Thailand.
According to Fisher, God used missionaries in Thailand to save him just two days before he was slated to become a Buddhist monk.
He now has a passion for showing individuals how they can leave a legacy of not only their money, but a lasting legacy of their values and significant influence in their community.
He and his wife Lynn have three daughters and attend Emanuel Baptist Church in Coconut Creek. They homeschool their children and participate in Classical Conversations at their home church. In addition, John has spent years serving in Biblical Stewardship Counseling and facilities management in his prior church.
His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:6-7: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (NLT).
According to John, “We are privileged to have a Christian newspaper in our community – one that is credible, rich in content and well presented. It is a blessing that we should not take for granted.” He also supports the Christian Homeschool Athletic Association (SAINTS), where he is currently Chairman of the
Board, Hope Pregnancy Centers, The Home Education Foundation (HEF), The Heritage Foundation, Miami Rescue Mission and Broward Outreach Centers. And he sits on the board for The Industry Council of Tangible Assets, the gold and silver industry’s watch dog.
Previously, John served as President of the Planned Giving Council of Broward County, was a board member for the Cross Road Food Bank and was a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
In his free time, John enjoys SCUBA diving, rifle marksmanship and reading.
