Musical Artist Matt Hammitt, of Sanctus Real, performed at the Hope Women’s Centers Legacy Partners Dinner on September 28th, then shared the heart wrenching story of receiving news that his newborn son’s heart had stopped beating. His son, Bowen was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a condition that leaves the heart severely underdeveloped. Multiple doctors told them that the child would not survive, and they should end his life in the womb. Miraculously, their son did live and Hammitt shared the lessons his family learned about love, life and the faithfulness of God. Later, Hammitt’s now teenage son, Bowen, performed on stage with his father, receiving roaring applause.

The Legacy Partners Dinner

During the fundraising dinner, Joy Wright, Executive Director of Hope Women’s Centers, also shared the impact their organization has had over the year and introduced several abortion-minded mothers who chose life with their babies. Wright shared that 812 abortion-minded women chose life for their babies so far this year after receiving services at Hope Women’s Centers, which is 85 percent of those served. They reported 2,800 patient visits this year and performed 2,000 free pregnancy tests. Their services also include ultrasounds, STI testing and treatment, community referrals, biblical counseling and a post abortion healing Bible study.
