Mission United Breaks Ground on Center for Veteran Services

Mission UnitedMission United supporters Roy and Kathryn Krause, Jean Colker and Ray Ferrero Jr. joined United Way of Broward County President/CEO Kathleen Cannon at the Jean and David Colker Center Ground Breaking Ceremony in May. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2015, the new center located on United Way of Broward County’s property, will serve as a centralized location where veterans and military service members can receive case management services provided by Mission United.

Jean Colker and her late husband David have impacted our community through their family business and philanthropic contributions for more than 50 years. Jean is proud to support Mission United and pay tribute and respect to the men and women who have fought for our country and freedom.

Mission United is a community-based initiative convening and aligning public and private resources in Broward County to support U.S. military service members, veterans and their families by helping them re-acclimate to civilian life. Since January 2013, more than 1,500 veterans have received assistance from Mission United in the areas of housing, employment, education, emergency financial aid, legal and health.
