StrikeForce 421 marked their fifth year of Generous Giving with a celebratory breakfast at the Lauderdale Yacht Club on April 12th.

With over 200 in attendance, the weather was perfect for the al fresco event in the pavilion overlooking the Intracoastal.  Joy was in the air, as StrikeForce 421 co-founder, JoAnne Daudt announced the combined giving totaled over half a million dollars in the last five years!

The Emcee for the morning was Eddie Copeland, of Church United, and the ever funny DeDe Lomenick provided spontaneous comic relief. The featured speaker, Stephan Tchividjian, of the National Christian Foundation, gave a timely talk about generosity that made quite an impact.

The program showcased past grant award recipients, including Trees of Hope, Firewall Centers, Renew, Live the Life, First Care Women’s Clinic, Taylor’s Closet, Heart2Heart Senior Outreach, Sheridan House, Caring for Miami, Ema Ministries, Hope Women’s Centers, Living Water Christian Counseling, South Florida Bible College and Urban Youth Impact.

Three of the ministries won raffle prizes in a random drawing (Firewall Centers, First Care Women’s Centers and Live the Life). There was a surprising twist of generosity when two anonymous donors stepped forward with a matching grant to the pre-set raffle prizes! To further demonstrate the impact and radical generosity of StrikeForce 421, First Care Women’s Centers immediately stepped forward and split their raffle prize with sister ministry, Hope Women’s Centers!

StrikeForce 421 is a Giving Circle. Each pledge partner donates $1,000 (or more!) a year. All funds are pooled and given away each year to ministries that proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Radical, life-changing generosity is what this group believes in… the type of generosity that provides joy to both the giver and the receiver.
