The King’s Academy’s senior class receives impressive college acceptances, $8.2 million in scholarsh

West Palm Beach, Florida, May 17, 2010 – The King’s Academy 2010 senior class has excelled academically during their high school careers.  These 120 students have navigated the rigors of The King’s Academy’s strenuous academic program, which includes advanced placement courses, dual enrollment and honors courses, and community service requirements.

Sonya Jones, High School Principal, is impressed by the seniors’ efforts.  “It is gratifying to see their hard work pay off.  One of the things that we stress at King’s is producing Christian leaders who will go out and change their world.  I’m sure that this class has both the knowledge and the opportunities in higher education to do just that,” she said.

As a result of their efforts, The King’s Academy’s soon-to-be graduates boast an impressive list of college acceptances from more than 30 highly selective colleges and universities, including:  Auburn University, Clemson University, Duke University, Florida State University, New York University, Ohio State University, Oklahoma State University, Tulane University, University of Alabama, University of Florida, University of Georgia, University of Miami, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of South Carolina, University of Virginia, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, Rice University, Vanderbilt University, Wake Forest University and many others.

In addition to these impressive acceptances, The King’s Academy’s 2010 senior class has also received approximately $8.2 million in scholarships to date, or over $68,000 per student.  Heather Najmabadi, Director of College Counseling, and her staff meet with each high school student and their families to assist with their college searches including the scholarship application process.

“Our primary goal is to assist and guide our students and their families through the myriad of information and decisions concerning their college search.  We are always looking to provide students with the best possible support,” she said.

The King’s Academy is a nationally recognized private Christian school serving approximately 1,200 students from preschool through twelfth grade and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The King’s Academy serves students and their families across Palm Beach and Hendry Counties at its main campus at Belvedere Road and Sansbury’s Way in West Palm Beach, its Clewiston campus on Caribbean Avenue, and its satellite preschool campuses in Greenacres, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach.
