TKA Yearbook Staff Wins National Award

TKA YearbookFor the second consecutive year, The King’s Academy high school yearbook program has been named a Jostens National Yearbook Program of Excellence. The program recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration and information and communication technologies literacy.

The King’s Academy’s 2015 award-winning yearbook, Bigger & Better, was led by Editor-in-Chief and Senior Casey Walker under the direction of yearbook advisor Mrs. Teresa Blakeney.  The book was dedicated to High School Principal Sonya Jones in recognition of her impact on the lives of students and the example she sets for them to follow. Casey stated, “We started out the year with the goal that we would do everything we needed to do in order to earn this award for the second year in a row, and I am so excited and proud of my yearbook staff for helping us get there! It is such an honor to say that we are part of the 2 percent of schools that receive this award!”
