Dr. O.S. Hawkins: The Win-Win Principle

“Though I might be very bold in Christ to command you what is fitting, yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you — being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ —I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in my chains, who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to you and to me” (Philemon 1:8–11). After beginning with the important place that affirmation plays in relationships, Paul then turned to what can be described as the win-win principle. This concept was made […]

Rob Hoskins: Here and Now

One of my greatest joys in life is witnessing the vibrancy of the global Church during my travels. Whether it’s congregations here in South Florida or Christian communities in distant parts of the world, the Church continues to be a dynamic force, a beautiful expression of people sharing the light of Christ across cultures and continents. Yet, as we reflect on this shared mission, one might ask: what makes sharing the Gospel in 2024 distinct from other times in history? Changing times While some may claim we live in an era of “unprecedented change,” the truth is that change has […]

Mat John: Families Encounter a Movement of Healing

William “Bill” C. Davell: Restricting Employee Political Speech and Activities: What to Know

Can – and should – employers establish restrictions on political speech and activities at work during an already contentious 2024 election campaign in a deeply divided country? The law and common sense say “yes” – and “maybe” – depending on the situation. Let’s delve in.    Bill Davell: Why would employers want to put limits on political speech and activity?   Paul Lopez: Four highly legitimate reasons: first, to maintain civility and comity in the workplace. Second, to keep the focus on work. And third and fourth, to protect the company’s brand and reputation and shield it from legal liabilities […]

Dr. Bob Barnes and Torrey Roberts: Three Invaders to Guard Against

There was a time that a father could build a moat around his family to protect them. If he had the resources, dad could build a trench around his castle and keep invaders out. However, in the past fifty years times have changed and the moat has been breached. The problem is, as dads we don’t realize the magnitude of the invasion. In fact, we have invited the invaders in. There are three dynamic modes of attack that have taken place to the peril of the American family. These invaders, in and of themselves, are not bad as long as […]

D. James Kennedy Center Presents Christian Statesman Award

The D. James Kennedy Center for Christian Statesmanship, a Capitol Hill-based project of Coral Ridge Ministries, recently awarded the Distinguished Christian Stateman Award to U.S. Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo. While accepting the honor at the Museum of the Bible, Sen. Hawley pointed to faith as a unifying force in a nation that’s more divided than ever. “Faith is what holds this country together,” Sen. Hawley said. “The Left’s attempt to eradicate religion divides America. That’s what’s divisive. Faith actually is a great unifier in our national life.” Sen. Hawley previously served as Missouri’s Attorney General and is recognized as one […]
