Steve Davis, Ed.S.:Excellence Together Skyrockets Performance

We were standing in the outside lobby waiting for the doors to open for the main evening concert. During this waiting time a small group of eight professional singers were entertaining us. They were amazing! The short soprano’s powerful voice firmly hit and held such a high note (singing ‘freeeee!’) I actually looked up to see if the glass in the chandelier would shatter! No kidding! The presentation included several seasonal songs featuring the different singers one-by-one. The tall lady soprano had a strong lush tone perfect for her part. Next, a short thin man with an amazing high tenor […]

Omar Aleman: Walk the Walk; Talk the Talk

The kid had it pretty good. His father was a righteous kind man, and he enjoyed a doting mother and several younger siblings. Despite their lack of riches, the family resided in a friendly neighborhood where the children played on the street and the adults parented by committee. However, he faced a formidable foe in the form of his older brother. No matter what he did or how hard he tried, he could never live up to the standards set by the firstborn. He dreamed of the day that his “nemesis” would leave the household and allow him to become […]

Dr. Debra A. Schwinn: Students Learn a Financial Goal Without an Action Plan ‘Is Just a Wish’

These are exciting times at Palm Beach Atlantic University, as we review architects’ plans for the Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Business Building. Our excitement rises even higher when we consider how the new building will allow us to expand impactful business programs and courses taught by engaging professors such as Barbara VanderWerf. “Professor VanderWerf is one of my favorites,” said finance major Emily Kintz. “I just really love her teaching style. She’s very focused on making connections with each student individually.” Emily, a senior, had enjoyed several courses under Barbara, who is assistant professor of management. Now, in her […]

In “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” Sir Richard the Grail Knight guards the biblical artifact, which is said to have supernatural powers, and he must be defeated in single combat to gain access to the Holy Grail. In “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” a magical wardrobe either opens or prohibits entry into Narnia. These are just a […]

Kevin Enders: Supporting Families Helps Prevent Child Abuse

You know those stories you look back on and can so clearly see the hand of God moving? In the midst of these kinds of stories, we typically have no idea the kind of impact divine timing and simple obedience can have. As we enter Child Abuse Prevention Month this April, I can’t help but think of the lives that have been touched through the heart of prevention.    Divine meetings I am sure you’ve had one of these “unplanned” meetings that you look back on so clearly as God’s orchestrating something divine. That’s what happened when I first met […]

OneHope Reaches 2 Billion Children and Youth With God’s Word

OneHope, an international Christian ministry, has crossed the threshold of sharing God’s Word with 2 billion children since 1987. To commemorate this incredible milestone, Bob Hoskins, OneHope’s founder, traveled to El Salvador, where OneHope’s programs launched in 1987.  OneHope’s 2 Billion Vision The vision of OneHope was born when Hoskins received a vision of Satan attacking the children of the world. “For days, I was weeping for what I saw—millions of children being slaughtered—and prayed, ‘Lord, what am I seeing and what should I do?’” Bob said. “And the Lord said, ‘The only thing that will save them is truth, […]
