Stephan N. Tchividjian: The Mission and The Storm

I was falling asleep the other evening and thinking about all the “storms” we have been facing over the past few years. Many of the storms have caught national and international attention. Some of the storms are personal and private. However, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and depressed…. perhaps a bit exhausted with the relentless waves of heavy and painful stories. I ,once again, like to reflect on a very familiar story that has been with me all my life (I originally published this a few years ago…..so, I guess it’s as relevant today as it was then). Jesus […]

First Priority, 4KIDS and Saints Celebrate 25 Years of Ministry

In school, at home and on the field, three important South Florida ministries have been reaching kids with the love of Christ for 25 Years. First Priority of South Florida shares the gospel with students at public school clubs, then equips them to reach their campuses for Christ. 4KIDS began in response to the foster care crisis, providing hope for kids in crisis with the vision of a home for every child. And Saints Homeschool P.E., founded by Coach Rick Andreassen, ministers to the heart of the child through sports, embodying the slogan “Where Jesus is Lord and Every Child […]

Rob Hoskins: How to Lead Through a Recession

I recently met with a few leaders who, like myself, led organizations or ministries through the pandemic. We discussed how hard we had to push ourselves for over two years and how, even though most of our organizations performed well despite the crisis, the experience left many of us feeling burned out. Then, without taking a breath, we began talking about the oncoming recession.  As leaders, we don’t have the luxury of always anticipating good times; we have to continually be prepared for any possible tragedy. This is especially true when it comes to a recession; leaders must always be […]

Les Feldman: Keep it Simple

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15 ESV). The end. For such a simple statement, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments,” this verse is often exaggerated or ignored. Jesus has been reassuring the disciples as He approaches His impending death and resurrection. Part of that included encouragement — their knowledge of Him was their way to God (John 14:4–6). Those who believe in Him have the opportunity to do “greater works.” There is more to be sure, but we are influenced by daily challenges. Then I start to think, we don’t live in […]

Dr. Tommy Boland: Liberated from the Incarceration of “IF ONLY”

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3).   We all have an inner critic that must be kept in check if we are going to live lives for the glory of God and the good of others, including ourselves. Because we are broken people living in a broken world with other broken people, our lives will inevitably be marked by brokenness, personally, professionally and relationally.     Our inner critic One of the favorite focal points for our inner critic comes under the heading of If only. Satan loves […]

Newton Fairweather: Be Prepared

The sign The greatest lesson that you will learn in life often occurs right before your eyes in real time. There are billboards and bulletin boards that points us to what we need to do and see. This is not an accident. Let me give you an example in real time that I am sure you can relate to. Notice the picture of the sign. This sign has been placed near my neighborhood in the same spot every year. What I want you to pay attention to is the part that says, “BE PREPARED!” This sign was design to alert […]

Franklin Graham: We Can Still Turn Back

On Nov. 8, tens of millions of voters will head to polls across America in the most crucial midterm elections in recent history.  To say that much is at stake is a gross understatement. It isn’t just control of Congress; it may be our last chance to stop the immoral and ungodly policies that have brought our great nation to the moral brink of disaster.   “It may be our last chance to stop the immoral and ungodly policies that have brought our great nation to the moral brink of disaster.” The floodgates of Sodom and Gomorrah have seemingly swung wide […]

Good News Wants to Know… – Bucket List

Now that we hope things are back to a new normal in the way we live our lives, Good News Wants to Know… What’s the top item you would like to check off on your bucket list? The top thing to cross off my bucket list – to lose the 10 pounds necessary to shed, as preparation for my enjoyment of all the culinary delights that I feel obligated to partake in as I continue to travel the world. Alan Platt, Doxa Deo/City Changers I confess that I really don’t have a bucket list. I look forward to traveling again once the airlines […]

Did you ever have one of those times when something started out terribly and ended up absolutely great?!

Good News Wants to Know….Did you ever have one of those years, months, weekends, nights, days when something started out so terribly and ended up absolutely great?!  In 2020 a massive wildfire started in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and was spreading rapidly throughout the area. We rushed out of our home with only a single bag per person and piled into our SUV. As word got to our church family of the danger, a prayer chain began among the members while staff simultaneously leaped to action securing temporary housing for our family. The wildfire, after destroying multiple neighborhoods, stopped right at […]
