Saints International Sports Ministry “Where Jesus is Lord & Every Child is a Winner!” held its 19th Annual Track & Field Meets in February. Over 1,000 homeschool kids ages 5-18 were able participate at one of the four locations; Jupiter, Tradewinds Park in Pompano, Naples, and Orlando. The athletes competed in 10 different events ranging from long jump, hurdles, discus, shot put and one-mile run. Also included were races for pre-schoolers such as Diaper Dash and Toddler Trot. For over 32,000 people with special needs, Night to Shine, a prom sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and held on February 12th at over 200 churches in 48 states and 8 countries, was the experience of a lifetime. The 43rd George Washington Birthday Fundraiser Gala took place on February 19, at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale. The guest of honor and keynote speaker was Melvin Morris, who received the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2014 for his valorous actions on Sept. 17, 1969, when he led an advance across enemy lines to retrieve a fallen comrade and single-handedly destroyed an enemy force that had pinned his battalion from a series of bunkers.
