It’s graduation season in the midst of a global pandemic. While social distancing laws have closed businesses and moved education to online formats, that hasn’t deterred the Class of 2020. “This class has been so adaptable and has remained faithful in finishing the school year in an excellent way,” said Dr. Ronald J. Farrar, Westminster Academy Upper School Principal. “They’ve been resilient and do what it takes to not just survive, but thrive,” said Stephen Smith, Boca Raton Christian School Principal. A different kind of graduation Despite ending their high school careers without the milestones of prom, senior trips and […]

Thank You Ravi: A Tribute

I’ll never forget meeting Ravi Zacharias for the first time.  Before I met him in person, I had been following his work. As a budding missiologist, I appreciated watching a modern-day apologist deftly leverage his platform to unify instead of polarize. It was intriguing and refreshing to hear a voice speak truth drenched in grace. I especially appreciated Ravi’s ability to help us make sense of the headlines, especially global. He was able to infuse timeless truths into what was happening in the world on a daily basis. Somehow, even though he was imparting deep insights, he was able to […]

Cross Ministry Shifts From Quilts to Masks

As the pastor of Cross Community Church in Deerfield Beach, when we launched in March of 2012, God brought to us our very first ministry of service to Him, The Cross Quilting Ministry. For the past eight years, the Cross quilters have been making and delivering quilts with the Word of God woven into each one, to a variety of different individuals in need, from the sick and dying, to the homebound, homeless and imprisoned. But when this Coronavirus Pandemic hit, all that changed overnight. From Quilts to Masks On March 24th, 2020, Joyce Kauffman asked the leader of the […]

The Mission is Still On

In a recent article, Christian writer Jeff Christopherson suggests three ideas that, if embraced by the Church, would lead to unprecedented spiritual renewal in our cities. His ideas were simple:    The Gospel is everyone’s vocation — not just a chosen few.   From the start of the Coronavirus to the time this article was written, Google searches for faith-related questions are up 700 percent. “The Search for God” documentary is trending on Netflix. Churches across the globe saw record numbers of digital attendance over Easter. What this means is that our friends, neighbors, family members and co-workers are searching […]
