What does it mean to be a woman? What are we called to do? Where do we place our hope? These days there is a renewed energy and passion for the answers to those questions, along with a lot of discouragement and confusion. In January a team of local ministry leaders and women from across South Florida will come together to launch Unleashed, a movement beyond despair and confusion to clarity, hope and resolve for becoming all we were meant to be in this world and in the life to come.

Christians believe Jesus overcame. He took on the sins and struggles we could not bear and bore them for us. Why? First, for his Father’s glory, second, to restore us to Him, but also so that we could be overcomers for this world on his behalf! Jesus came so that we might be unleashed to create, to transform, to lead and to have fun together while we’re doing it!

Unleashed is more than just a two-day women’s conference. It is the beginning of a sisterhood. Unleashed will unite the women of our region to Christ, to each other and to the many resources among our local churches and ministries that will empower and equip us to leverage our rich and diverse gifts for our city and the world.

 

The Unleashed Launch Event

January 25-26 at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Friday night sessions are from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday doors open at 8 a.m., sessions from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., breakfast and lunch included.

 

The Team

All the members of the conference team live and work in South Florida. Conference Founder, Speaker and Prima Ballerina Dede Lomenick, renowned for her exquisite beauty and especially for her humility and quiet spirit (#sarcasm), is a pastor’s wife, mother of three girls, speaker, entertainer and stand-up comedian. Her heart’s desire is to see people fall in love with Jesus and His precious word. She believes that Jesus came to bring us life to the full and wants others to experience the joy that only He can give.

Drew Brown – Drew is passionate about connecting with people and loves to learn their individual stories. She is the girl’s ministry director for 6th – 12th grade students at her home church and treasures walking alongside girls as they process life, faith, and the beauty of following Jesus. Drew is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies at Knox Theological Seminary.

Dr. Heather Clark – Dr. Clark is a licensed psychologist, Christian counselor, author, speaker and professor at Knox Theological Seminary. (Yes, she is an over-achiever but we are slowly breaking her.) It is her calling and passion to integrate Biblical truth with psychological knowledge to help individuals bring about healthy, lasting change in their lives and relationships.

Vanessa Petit-Frere – Vanessa is a wife and mother to two precious boys, She and her husband planted a church here in South Florida where Vanessa uses her incredible gift of communication to share the truths of God’s word. Her heart for people around her is being used in mighty ways! She is precious and adorable and you’ll want to make her your best friend.

Conference Moderator and Panel Discussion Leader Karen Granger – Karen is a wife, a mother, a speaker, an emcee and an experienced business, community and ministry leader. She makes everything better and more wonderful just by being who she is. She is currently making a world of difference by working on behalf of 4Kids in Palm Beach County.

Worship Leader Loriell Chludinsky – Loriell is a Southern gal married to a guy named Karl (with a K) from da Bronx!. She is a happy mama to two boys ages 12 and 6. She is a singer, song-writer and worship leader. As a former single mom, Loriell has a heart for single mothers and is the assistant director of Ema ministries. She affectionately refers to herself as “a hot mess in need of Jesus who literally cannot even.” To know her is to love her.

Worship Leader Dr. Tessa Scott – Tessa is a wife, mother and dentist who loves to worship her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She does this by leading others in praise, mentoring teen girls in her community or volunteering her other talents as a vocal and graphic artist or as a health professional. Her voice is incredible but her purity of heart for worship is what sets her apart.
