Youth Sunday Kicks Off Summer Youth Programs

The congregation at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale was treated to a full day of worship and fellowship led entirely by the youth of the church when they hosted Youth Sunday on May 31. The event kicked off a summer filled with youth-centered activities at First Presbyterian.
“Youth Sunday is a special program because it allows the students to grow in their faith by challenging them to lead all aspects of worship from prayers to music and the sermon,” said Nic Merchant, Director of Youth and College Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale. “They also gain experience in public speaking and develop confidence.”
The Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian will keep going strong through the summer break with a full schedule of weekly programs and trips for middle-school, high-school and college-aged youth. The Youth Ministry also plans several summer trips, including the High School Mission Trip from July 12th to 17th, the Middle School Great Escape from July 27th to July 31st, and the High School Back to School Retreat in August.
