South Florida Donates More Than 16,000 Pounds of Aid for Haiti

United by a common goal to help Haiti, 80 volunteers from South Florida’s pro sports teams, businesses and community groups joined Food For The Poor on September 10 to pack more than 14,500 pounds of food to help families devastated by the earthquake one month ago. Food For The Poor Distributes Aid in Haiti after Double Hit from Quake and Storm

Food For The Poor, based in Coconut Creek, Fla., is rushing critical aid to families in Haiti’s southern peninsula who are now suffering from heavy rains from Tropical Storm Grace in the same area affected by Saturday’s major earthquake.   On Tuesday, a convoy of trucks carrying relief supplies left FFTP-Haiti’s Port-au-Prince office.
