Back to School Sales Tax Holiday
Consumers can purchase qualifying back-to-school supplies exempt from tax during the 2023-2024 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the sales tax holiday lasts from July 24 -August 6. A second exemption period will begin January 1, 2024 and extend through January 14. Together, they will save Florida families over $160.6 million by applying to items such as personal computers and accessories up to $1,500, clothing up to $100, school supplies up to $50, and learning aides and jigsaw puzzles up to $30.
