Habitat for Humanity of Broward gathered faith leaders on February 19 to celebrate the groundbreaking of Apostles Build 2026, a transformational partnership bringing together eighteen churches to help fund and build a home at 2711 NW 9th Court in Fort Lauderdale for a family in need of safe, affordable housing.
Apostles Build is a transformational partnership where each church contributes financially and through volunteer time on the construction site, supporting the approximately $300,000 needed to build a new home for a deserving family, and providing in-kind support for Habitat’s Homeowner Education Classes and Youth Empowerment Program. Build days will take place on Saturdays from April through September, with volunteers working side-by-side.
“Through Apostles Build, we are opening the door to stability, opportunity and generational change for a family who will now have a safe place to build their future,” said Nancy Robin, CEO and Executive Director of Habitat Broward.
“Bringing together several congregations for a shared mission shows what is possible when we move beyond our individual walls and work as one body,” said Robert Taylor, Habitat Broward Board Chair and a leader of the Apostles Build Committee.
Rooted in service and fellowship, Apostles Build reflects a shared commitment to live out the message of loving one’s neighbor through tangible action.
Participating churches include: Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, Church by the Glades, Church by the Sea, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, First Baptist of Fort Lauderdale, First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, Grace Wesleyan Church, Greenhouse Church of South Florida, Knights of Columbus, Plantation Presbyterian Church, Plantation United Methodist Church, Rio Vista Church, Riverside Church, The Bridge Church of South Florida, The Sanctuary Church FTL, Sunset Presbyterian Church, and United Church of Christ.
