If you haven’t already, start gathering fun toys, school supplies, and personal care items to include in your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes because National Collection Week is November 17-24. That is when over 4,500 drop-off locations across the U.S. will be open to receive your prayerfully packed boxes.

Why Pack a Shoebox?

Shoebox Gifts are very important to children and families in need and can have a profound impact on their lives. Take Samnang for example. Samnang’s family lives in Cambodia right next to a garbage dump in their neighborhood.  But God used the new items inside an Operation Christmas Child shoebox she received at age 13 to help draw her into a personal relationship with Christ. Now 17, she is teaching a new generation of shoebox recipients in her community the truths of the Gospel that transformed her life.

How to Pack a Shoebox

Step 1: Find a shoebox, cardboard or plastic.

Step 2: Acquire a label that indicates the age range. Options include 2 – 4, 5 – 9, or 10 – 14.

Step 3: Fill the shoebox with gifts or school supplies.

Step 4: “Pray without ceasing” for the child to receive their gift.

Please also pray for:

• Their family to also be receptive to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
• The pastor of the church who delivers your shoebox gift.
• Their community to be transformed by the Gospel.

Step 5: To cover for evangelism materials, shipping, and other costs, a donation of $10 per box is critical.

Step 6: Drop off at a location during National Collection Week (November 17 – 24).

Remember, each shoebox represents an opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, making a difference in a child’s life, both now and for eternity.
