Soroptomist Reaches Out to Women

Soroptomist Reaches Out to Women Soroptimist International of Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach awarded checks to several local organizations whose missions benefit women and their families on May 20 at the Babione Chapel Community Room. Soroptimist President, Mariela Montgomery, together with Elke Schmidt, event chairperson,  presented the monetary awards to following charities and causes.

The Florence Fuller Child Development Center assists in after school day care for 625 children.

Faulk Center for Counseling will train local university students to assist in health care and family support groups.

Boca Helping Hands will train students in their hospitality program who are learning to cater events.

Oasis Compassion Agency, a woman’s center, will teach empowering techniques in computer use, finance, clothing, nutrition, diet and image.

Positive Pockets, Inc. founded by teenage author Becca Zerbo, is dedicated to educate and improve self- esteem among teens.  For more information visit soroptimist4women.org.
