Franklin Graham: Don’t Hate God’s Chosen People

While I was preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in Kraków, Poland, this spring, I visited the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp, where 1.3 million people, mostly Jews, were held captive, tortured, raped and murdered almost 80 years ago. Multitudes were gassed to death with cyanide, and their bodies then put into ovens and incinerated. In total, the brutal Nazi regime slaughtered more than 6 million Jews across Europe during the Second World War. Auschwitz made me wonder if mankind has learned a lesson. Could such virulent antisemitism ever erupt again?  It didn’t take too long to find out. […]

Stephan Tchividjian: Nests In Your Hair

Over the past few weeks, we have been reminded of the consequences of sin. We can easily become discouraged or disillusioned when we hear of men and women seduced by sin. One of the ripple effects is that we find ourselves examining our own hearts and actions. My grandmother used to have a saying, “You can’t keep birds from flying over your head, but you can certainly keep them from making nests in your hair.” The imagery was a warning of how sin creeps into our lives. May I illustrate this by telling a story of a friend?   My […]

Dr. O.S. Hawkins: Crossing the Rubicon of Relationships

“If then you count me as a partner, receive him as you would me. But if he has wronged you or owes anything, put that on my account. I, Paul, am writing with my own hand. I will repay—not to mention to you that you owe me even your own self besides. Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in the Lord. Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say” (Philemon vv. 17-21 NKJV).   The year was 49 BC. The order […]

Dr. Tommy Boland: Have You Received Your Divine Degree?

“You must be born again” (John 3:7). Every year graduating high school seniors head off to college in search of a degree that will help open doors of opportunity and pathways of possibility in their chosen field of study. Some pick a particular course of study and pursue it to completion. Others change direction along the way until they find where they fit. But did you know that there is a degree that is available to everyone of any age that transcends what is offered by any college or university? It’s a B.A. from the College of Christ – Born […]

Rob Hoskins: 6 Ways to Engage Your Teen in Healthy Spiritual Rhythms

With the school bells dismissing kids for summer, the break in normal routine begs the question — how can we, as parents, grandparents, guardians and mentors, use this time strategically to encourage the next generation to engage in healthy spiritual habits in every season?  In OneHope’s Global Youth Culture study, when focusing on data from North America, more than half of surveyed teens said they were Christians, but only 8% displayed traits of engaging in healthy spiritual formation habits, like regularly reading the Bible.  The formative teenage years usher in challenging questions as young people wrestle with direction for their lives, what […]

Franklin Graham: Jesus — The Way, the Truth and the Life

The tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore in late March sadly claimed the lives of at least six people, including construction workers who had been repairing potholes on the bridge. Since it opened in 1977, the 1.6-mile bridge along I-695 had become a critical link for more than 30,000 vehicles traveling daily to places like Washington, Philadelphia and New York. The four-lane bridge, an architectural marvel, stretched across the Baltimore Harbor and its bustling shipping channels. Had the 985-foot-long cargo ship struck the bridge during rush hour or midday instead of the wee hours of the […]

Rob Hoskins: Perfectly Imperfect

My mom never uttered empty words — she spoke life and truth everywhere she went. She was a consistent example, full of true wisdom, and had a unique ability to make me smile.  But she could also be…irritably on time…showing up 15 minutes early and then ask me why I was late. Frankly, she didn’t suffer fools very well either, often being impatient when people’s minds didn’t move at the speed of hers. I also always wondered why, with all of her reading and knowledge, her superior intellect, and creative brilliance, she wasn’t as generous as she could have been […]

Larry Lacy: Right Bible – Wrong Gospel?

As I enter my seventeenth year behind the pulpit, I’ve noticed some strange/alien practices that have seeped into the church. When I say alien, I’m not referring to some anorexic like green figure that stepped out of some Disney sci-fi miniseries. Alien to the traditional practices of the Church universally. There are several: fog machines during praise and worship. The decibel level has increased during the time of praise and worship. Songs that focus on the creation (humanity) rather than the Creator. Sermons (not all) are focused on our “goodness” versus our “flaws.” Let’s be transparent with one another. It’s […]

Dr. Debra A. Schwinn: Commissioning the Next Generation of Leaders

Springtime at Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) is one of my favorite times of the year. As we approach commencement, the campus buzzes with excitement for what’s to come. For many, it’s a quickly approaching summer break. For the 760 eligible graduates in the Class of 2024, it’s the next chapter as they embrace their full potential as new leaders in the workforce or advance their career plans through further studies.    An investment in the future Despite the busyness of the season, I take time to reflect on the past two semesters. Each academic year, our faculty, staff and […]
