Omar Aleman: On The Run

Paul Harvey’s voice and delivery were exceptional, not to mention the mandatory ending to his daily broadcast. I take monthly license with these articles by utilizing his familiar format; a personal experience followed by a weaving tale until we get to “the end of the story.” And today will be more of the same. Run in the relay There I was in the afternoon gym class prepared to give it all for the team. The coach had broken us into four groups of four for a relay race only available to the swiftest. We were running dead last as I […]

Stephan Tchividjian: We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Box

Box of mystery Years ago, when our children were younger, we used to schedule “mystery family vacations.” The idea was a brilliant one, I might add. The concept was simple. Lisa and I would devise a fun family vacation but keep it a secret. We would simply share with our children the date of departure, the date of return and provide them a packing list, inserted with a few decoys to throw them off. The first year our children complained that we were terrible parents trying our best to ruin their lives, (jury is still out on that one) but […]

Dr. Bob Barnes and Torrey Roberts: We Have Lost Something Important!

Today’s family has lost something and it’s a huge loss. Not to worry though. It can be found. The members of today’s typical family have lost their connection to each other. They have little in common other than the same address. Unfortunately, today’s family members have unplugged from each other. Something called connection To meet a natural need to be plugged in somewhere, today’s children are plugging into the outside world and working desperately to stay connected. I don’t even think they know why.  The answer is, however, it’s the only connection they have.    Pull the plug on social […]

Kevin Enders: Far From Home in a Shipping Container

As I am writing I am in Upstate New York this summer, and while here, we visited the St. Lawrence River. This is a massive river and a popular route for shipping containers. As I watched these massive boats hauling hundreds of shipping containers, I was reminded of a story from 4KIDS.  Stuck in a shipping container… Just a couple of years ago, a little girl came to a 4KIDS Foster Family in Palm Beach County, and the trauma she had endured prior to arriving at their home was heartbreaking. This little girl had traveled all the way from Guatemala […]

What’s the most unbelievable yet true excuse you have ever had for being late?

Tardiness is frowned upon, yet occasionally it’s unavoidable. Good News Wants to Know… what’s the most unbelievable yet true excuse you have ever had for being late? It was the groom, the best man, and me (another member of the wedding party) in a car going over the Throgs Neck Bridge on our way from The Bronx to the wedding location in Long Island. We left on time but that didn’t matter. We were a one third of the way over the bridge when there was a massive multi-car collision. There were no casualties but plenty of damage. Luckily to other cars but […]

Frank Pavone, the founder and president of Priests for Life, prayed for an end to abortion with more than 70 pro-life advocates on Saturday, August 12, on the sidewalk outside the East Cypress Women’s Center abortion facility at 962 East Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale. Pray for the Unborn The purpose of the gathering was to pray for an end to abortion, for the closure of the abortion facility and others in the state of Florida, for the defeat of the pro-abortion amendment Planned Parenthood wants to put on the 2024 ballot and for full legal protection to […]

Dr. Tommy Boland: Your Work Matters to God

On September 4, Americans celebrate the federal holiday known as Labor Day. So I’d like to give you a word of eternal encouragement about your labor: No matter where you work and what you do, your work matters to God. First, we must remember that work is not a result of the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Work was given to them before they sinned and rebelled against God. Work is one of God’s many good gifts to mankind. Theologians frequently refer to this as the Cultural Mandate or the Creation Mandate. “God created man […]
