The Simplicity of Systems in Life

Systems dictate behavior. Systems make your decision-making easier. The absence of systems in your life only adds to the complexity of your life. No systems — no simplicity. If your life is out of balance and hurried, then you need a system, or you need to work the system you forgot about. If you are really busy but not all that productive then you need a system. Systems don’t have much sizzle, but we need them. A system is a well thought out plan. God developed systems and operated within their parameters. God was systematic in creating the universe and […]

CCA Boys Win State Baseball Championship

Despite what seemed like an insurmountable setback, the CCA boys varsity baseball team proved that with hard work and determination anything is possible. In May of 2017, the CCA boys varsity baseball team left Hammond Stadium after a disappointing loss in FHSAA 4A State Semifinals. The defeat was difficult to swallow. As cleats left the clay and the boys climbed onto the bus headed back home, a resolve to return next year settled in their hearts. This resolve fueled the boys as they trained, practiced, and mentally prepared for the season ahead. And the hard work paid off. CCA started […]

A Life Well Lived

This graduation season is filled with young lives full of potential and a bright future. However, life is tough. The challenge is to achieve the hope within that young heart as you age through the seasons of life. The goal – a life well lived. The opposite is a life of disappointment and cynicism because of shattered dreams. Youth lacks experience, but you can borrow it from others if you are wise. The psalmist is a great source to borrow from.   Life Principle One – Trust in God In Psalm 91:2, He said, “My God in whom I trust.” […]

The Significance of the 70th Anniversary of the State of Israel

The modern state of Israel celebrated its 70th anniversary on May 14. From its reestablishment in 1948 there has been war, contention and controversy. To be honest, that parcel of land has been a source of contention pretty much since the times of ancient Israel. This is further complicated by the strong polarized views held by many in the church. Battle lines over support or condemnation of the modern state of Israel have pretty much fallen along political lines, which have forced us to either care for Israel or care for the Palestinians. To me this is the symptom of […]

Don’t Squander Your Summer

In our house it always feels like we come crawling into summer time like someone who just finished a marathon…one they didn’t train for. We are all absolutely exhausted but SO looking forward to a break. Dreams of a beautiful summer of family bliss dance in our heads as parents, but how often is that really the case? One of two things may happen: either we get to August wondering what in the world happened to the summer days, or we get to the end of June wondering when they can go back to school (or both depending what day […]

2018 Graduates Are Poised to Impact the Future

Graduation celebrates the completion of high school accomplishments, yet the ceremony is called “Commencement” because it represents a new beginning.  “This is not the pinnacle,” said Boca Raton Christian School Principal Stephen Smith. “There are even greater things these graduates will do because they’ve been equipped and are sent out with a purpose and a vision.” For many, the anticipation is especially heightened for the class of 2018, which has already experienced and accomplished extraordinary things. “When our community was rocked with the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the news became reality in our daily lives as students […]

Youth and Next Generation Leaders Take Center Stage at Church United

As Church United, we believe a mission to own the lostness, pain and brokenness of our community must include a mission for youth. Without a strong focus on reaching the next generation, we will miss perhaps what could be the greatest domestic missions opportunity in our nation’s history. Research points to the reality that over one million youth at least nominally in the church today will choose to leave each year for the next three decades. Thirty-five million youth raised in families that call themselves Christians will say they are not by 2050. However, we believe the story is far […]

Calvary Church Breaks Ground on New Ministry Center

Calvary Church held an official groundbreaking ceremony for its Next Step Ministry Center in Jupiter on Sunday, April 22. Hosted by Calvary’s Board of Directors, Pastors and Staff, the celebration honored the construction launch for a 35,000-square-foot facility that will double the church’s capacity and ability to impact its congregation and beyond. “For us, the church is not a building; it is the people that make up the church, and our desire is for everyone who enters our doors to experience the life change of God’s grace and love,” Pastor Dan Plourde remarked. “Marriages will be restored, addictions will be […]
