Early detection is key to helping the more than 200,000 women who are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. In recognition of breast cancer awareness month in October, Broward Health is celebrating its sixth year of MAMMOPALOOZA, a fun, month-long event that provides extended opportunities for mammograms and breast cancer education at all Broward Health hospitals. Through extended hours and enhanced awareness, Broward Health performed more than 4,500 mammograms last October.   To meet the needs of the residents in the West Broward County area, an Assisting Hands Home Care franchise office launched a transitional care program last year for its clients. Knox Theological Seminary Names President

Dr. Samuel Lamerson has been named President of Knox Theological Seminary. Following the resignation of Dr. Ronald Kovack from the presidency in 2012, the seminary has had interim presidents including Dr. Lamerson since January 2014. Dr. Lamerson is the longest serving faculty member and has advanced through roles such as director of admissions, dean of students and dean of faculty. Place of Hope Dedicates Cottage for Extended Foster Care

Place of Hope held a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication for their newly remodeled Honda Classic Cottage at the Villages of Hope campus in Lake Park on August 26. Runners Compete in TKA Lion Run 5K

More than 250 runners in ages ranging from 4 through 76 participated in The Sixth Annual The Kings Academy Lion Run 5K and Kids’ Run on August 25 in West Palm Beach.
