Christians from across America will unite at the National Mall in Washington D.C., for the third annual MARCH FOR THE MARTYRS on September 24 at 3 p.m. The movement, which was founded by the organization For the Martyrs, aims to raise awareness of Christian persecution while giving believers an opportunity to stand in solidarity with those suffering for their faith. The festival is a celebration of Iberian-American culture through art, music, and poetry. Viss will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award at a lunch to follow at noon in Upper Weyenberg, 900 S. Olive Ave. Viss forgave the driver of the boat who hit him and later teamed up with him to advocate for ocean safety.
